連絡するは英語で｜in touchを使った表現

英語圏の人とメールをしていると、ときどき keep in touch という表現を目にします。

keep も in も touch も簡単な単語ですが、この表現を知らないと意味が理解できないかもしれませんね。意味は、『連絡を取り合う』です。

keep は『保つ』touch は『触れる』から keep in touch で『触れ合おう』。つまり、『連絡し合おう』という意味になります。ちょっとこなれたな表現ですよね。

例えば、アメリカの同僚と定期的に連絡し合って進捗を確認を確認したいときに Let’s keep in touch. 『連絡を取り合おう』と言います。

あなたと、彼と、彼女と　など ◯◯と連絡を取り合うは keep in touch with ◯◯　となります。

We still keep in touch with each other after we have graduated high school.
『高校卒業後も、お互い連絡を取り合っています。』

I want to keep in touch with a friend that has moved away.
『引っ越した友達と連絡を取り合いたい』

I didn’t keep in touch with him for a long time.

ちなみに、相手から keep in touch と言われたときの返答は、単純に Yes, I will.（そうします）や Sure thing（もちろん）とすれば大丈夫です。

in touch の前には、keep 以外にも様々な単語が付けることができます。stay in touch 、 be in touch そして get in touch の3つの表現を紹介します。

・stay in touch

意味はkeep in touch と同じで『連絡を取り合う』です。

Let’s stay in touch.

・get in touch

in touch の前に get を付けると『連絡を取る』という意味になります。

Get in touch with me when you are arrive at the station.

I will get in touch with you late.
『後で連絡するね』

・be in touch

Bye, I’ll be in touch.
